It must not get wet, so changing it every two hours is recommended. Breathing and saliva introduce moisture to the fabric, and when it is wet, it no longer provides a protective barrier. So, if it gets wet: change it! If you have been wearing it for 2 hours: change it!
Five is the minimum recommended for those who need to go out for the day, but if you spend more time out commuting to and from work, you will need more masks.
Keep a small bag or a washable container in your purse or bag to store your used masks throughout the day so you can wash them at home and reuse them.
If you don't know where to find a mask, visit our Mask Locator and order directly from one of the more than 2,000 registered artisans. There are artisans from every region of the country, and you will find one near you!
ATTENTION!
⠀
You should not touch your mask while wearing it, nor take it off to talk to people. It will only be effective if used correctly, and social distancing remains the best way to contain the virus and stay protected. If you can, stay home!
